# Bitcoin Integration: Upgrade the `uploader` canister to the `bitcoin` canister.

As mentioned on the [forums](https://forum.dfinity.org/t/direct-integration-with-bitcoin/6147/619), this is the second of three proposals to deploy the Bitcoin mainnet canister.


The [bitcoin canister](https://github.com/dfinity/bitcoin-canister/blob/launch/canister/src/main.rs) is going to start syncing blocks from height 764684 (the height that the state was initialized with by the `uploader` canister) until the tip. The canister will only be syncing the bitcoin mainnet chain and it will reject any other requests to the Bitcoin APIs. The last proposal will enable those APIs for public access.

## How can I verify the Wasm hash of this canister?

* Clone the [bitcoin-canister repo](https://github.com/dfinity/bitcoin-canister).
* git checkout 84cf516c049d20159ee607fbaec5a792daabc812
* Run `docker build -t canisters .` to build the canisters and output their Wasm hashes.

You should then see the following in the output:

dbfa3591b98565b4e26107b1afd31753a42e66ec6cebfec15ec4505813e6f6d8  ic-btc-canister.wasm
```
