Releases

Releases refer to versions of the Internet Computer that have undergone a rigorous testing process and are ready for deployment to IC subnets. Each subnet can run a different version, but the goal is to keep subnets synchronized to ensure better testing coverage. At the beginning of the release rollout process, a new version must be elected (or blessed) by the community through an NNS (Network Nervous System) proposal. Once a new version is elected, follow-up NNS proposals are created to upgrade each subnet to the new version.
