Authorize the KINREACH community game proposal to use approved Sneed branding and assets

Proposal summary

This motion asks Sneed DAO to grant the open-source KINREACH game project a revocable, non-exclusive permission to use the Sneed name, an approved Mr. Sneed likeness, and an itemized set of Diamond Club assets in a social action MMORPG proposed for later governance by the Sneed SNS. The game will remain free to enter, will not make SNEED affect combat power, and will not claim to be official or DAO-governed until the relevant canisters are separately registered under the Sneed SNS root.

Decision requested

Approve a bounded, revocable, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission for the open-source project currently titled KINREACH: The Sneed Commons to use Sneed community branding in the prototype, community review, release-candidate, and Sneed SNS-governed production versions described below.

This motion authorizes only the following:

Sneed name and word references
- The textual names “Sneed,” “Sneed DAO,” “Sneed SNS,” “Sneed Commons,” and “Sneeders.”
- Uses are limited to identifying the intended community, explaining governance, naming the proposed social world, and giving attribution.
Mr. Sneed likeness
- Only an image or asset pack that the Sneed DAO, an authorized Sneed steward, or a separate rights holder explicitly identifies in the project’s public asset allowlist.
- Permitted transformations are limited to resizing, cropping, accessibility variants, lightweight animation, and adaptation to the game’s original visual system.
- The project may not create misleading, defamatory, financial, political, sexual, or hateful depictions.
Diamond Club assets
- Only specific assets that are listed by filename, source, rights holder, approved use, and content hash in the project’s public asset allowlist.
- This motion does not license holder-owned NFTs, third-party artwork, or any asset that Sneed DAO does not own or control.
- Diamond Club ownership may unlock cosmetic recognition only if separately approved. It may never buy combat power, chat access, moderation power, or stronger progression.

Required safeguards

The project must comply with all of the following:

No premature endorsement claim. Before this motion passes, the interface must say “built as a proposal for the Sneed community.” After this motion passes but before canister registration, it may say “branding use approved by Sneed DAO,” but it may not say “official,” “owned by,” or “governed by Sneed DAO.”
Separate governance gate. The game becomes Sneed-governed only after a later RegisterDappCanisters proposal passes and the Sneed SNS root is verified as the sole controller of every production frontend and backend canister.
No financial promise. The game may not market SNEED price, yield, investment returns, or earnings. It may not introduce another token without separate Sneed governance approval.
No pay-to-win. SNEED balances, neuron size, Diamond Club assets, tips, or paid cosmetics may not increase damage, health, drop rates, matchmaking priority, or other competitive power.
Open review. Game code, build instructions, deployed canister IDs, Wasm hashes, asset provenance, moderation policy, privacy posture, and controller state must be public before the later registration proposal.
Safe social design. Public chat requires rate limits, reporting, blocking, bounded moderator powers, an auditable moderation record, and a warning that on-chain messages are public and durable.
Original work by default. Any Sneed or Diamond Club material not explicitly allowlisted remains prohibited. The rest of the game’s art, names, creatures, music, interface, and code must remain original or properly licensed.
Attribution. Approved assets must retain the credit and license wording recorded in the allowlist.

DAO control and revocation

Sneed governance may narrow, suspend, or revoke this permission through a later motion if the project violates these safeguards or materially harms the community. On-chain builds cannot be erased retroactively, so after a revocation the maintainers must stop new distribution using the revoked material and submit a replacement build that removes it within 30 days.

Permission automatically expires if no public release candidate is delivered within 12 months of adoption, unless Sneed governance extends it.

Steward and asset allowlist

If adopted, the motion invites Sneed governance or an authorized community representative to identify:

the approved Mr. Sneed source asset and attribution;
any Diamond Club assets the DAO can legally license;
any Sneed wordmark or logo variants allowed for the project;
prohibited treatments and required credits.

Each approved item must be recorded in governance/ASSET_ALLOWLIST.md with a cryptographic content hash before it is added to a build.

What this motion does not do

This motion does not:

transfer treasury funds;
register or transfer control of any canister;
approve a token, sale, reward pool, or financial incentive;
guarantee a production release;
authorize use of third-party intellectual property;
replace the later technical, security, moderation, and canister-registration review.

Requested vote

Vote Yes to grant the bounded branding permission above and allow KINREACH to build a reviewable Sneed community game proposal with approved assets.

Vote No to require the project to remain wholly original and avoid the Sneed name, Mr. Sneed likeness, and Diamond Club assets.
