# Remove the Neurons’ Fund from the SNS Launchpad

## 1. To ensure ICP cannot be extracted from the community by funding your own SNS to receive ICP from the neurons’ fund.  

Projects are able to begin a launchpad, put ICP into their own project and receive a large amount of ICP from the community fund.

## 2. Background

Without naming any specific raise, I feel there are instance where a raise has been undertaken with the main goal to extract ICP from the community fund. Whether or not this has happened, we should ensure it cannot happen.

## 3. Why this is important

If we remove the neurons’ fund contribution, projects decentralising on ICP would do so on merit, gaining financial support from project outsiders. If we continue to have the community fund I believe the SNS will fill up with projects whose primary goal is to obtain the neurons fund contribution.

## 4. Pros

The quality of projects decentralised through the SNS could increase as success would only be defined by project outsider contributions. Currently a team can obtain ICP through this process from the community whilst have no monetary financial community support.

## 5. Cons

Projects that genuinely could use the financial assistance or projects that choose to not add their own ICP to their sale are punished due to the dishonesty of others. This should be addressed through a more robust presale stage, ideally built into the SNS.
