Chain-key SHIB (ckSHIB), a multi-chain SHIB twin on the Internet Computer, is an ICRC-1-compliant token that is backed 1:1 by SHIB such that 1 ckSHIB can always be redeemed for 1 SHIB and vice versa. The ckETH minter canister is responsible for both minting ckSHIB tokens when users transfer SHIB to its control and burning ckSHIB when handling SHIB retrieval requests. ckSHIB transactions are facilitated through a ledger canister, which in conjunction with archive canisters, tracks ckSHIB account balances and transaction history between accounts. An index canister provides access to ckSHIB transactions associated with individual accounts.
